Annie’s Centre offers 12 week academic support programs for pre school and primary school aged children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Our support programs are individualised to accommodate the communicative and learning profiles of your child, optimising their ability to engage with academic instruction. Our trained therapists work closely with parents to identify learning objectives that balance the needs of their child and the requirements of the NSW education syllabus. Learning opportunities are provided on a 1:1 basis using a wide range of interactive and computer-assisted resources, ensuring that educational tasks are both fun and engaging.
Academic support is currently available in the areas of literacy and mathematics. Individualised programs may be formulated to target a number of learning domains including:
- Speaking and listening
- Phonological awareness
- Reading accuracy and fluency
- Reading comprehension
- Narrative composition
- Numbers and algebra
- Measurement and geometry
- Statistics and probability
Our programs are suitable for all students, both low and high support needs. For example, we can assist students who may be experiencing difficulties accessing the curriculum in their day to day school work right through to those students whose skills are beyond their same age peers and would like to extend their learning.
Please contact our Centre at firstname.lastname@example.org for further details about or to register your interest in our Academic Support services.
